Sati yoga: mindfulness yoga retreats
These four day yoga and meditation courses are held over bank holiday weekends. They are designed for serious
students (from beginners to experienced) who wish to explore the connection between
mindfulness (sati in the ancient language of the Buddha) and the classical eight limbs system of yoga.
Students will explore the application of mindfulness not only to their physical asana practice (through classical hatha yoga postures) but also to the broader canvas of their daily lives.
This course would be of interest to keen beginners as well as experienced practitioners, and especially to anyone who has done an 8 week MBSR course. Yoga teachers are also welcome.

Establishing Your Own Practice: Summer Asana, Pranyama and Meditation Retreats
These unique intensive week long courses are geared towards beginners or
intermediate yoga students who seriously want to develop a balanced yoga
practice, and use yoga as a tool for self-healing and self
development. Through a combination of led classes, self-practice and individualized tuition, participants will build a personalised practice programme which they can continue at home. We also offer follow-up support
through Skype or email.
The daily course programme includes asana
(postures), an introduction to yogic breathing (pranayama), meditation as well as
discussions about yogic ethics and diet.
Breath by breath intensive
On these five day courses we explore different ways of using the breath to
further our yoga practice. The daily programme includes asana,
pranayama, and breath awareness meditation. This course is only
suitable for students with an established yoga practice.
Mindful living, joyous eating retreat
During this intensive retreat, we will be looking at how we feed
ourselves. We will work at developing mindfulness of our body, mind
and emotions, specifically exploring why, how and what we eat.
This course is particularly suitable for people who want to develop a
healthy, joyful relationship with food.
7 day retreat with Rossella Baroncini
Baroncini, a direct long-time student of Vanda
Scaravelli (author of Awakening the Spine, 1991) has been teaching classes, workshops and private lessons
This retreat is designed for experienced yoga practitioners and is of special interest to teachers.
Pranayama and backbend intensive
This four day course is designed for experienced asana practionners who wish to build (or boost) a pranayama practice.
Yoga and natural horsemanship courses
These courses are for people who want to learn yoga and mindfulness
techniques to improve and enhance their interaction with horses, or want to combine yoga, meditation and work with horses.

General information about our yoga courses
Price includes shared accommodation, food, tuition, and travel to and from the island from the mainland.
(return ferry is normally 15 euros).
Single room supplement (subject to availability) is 25 euros
per night and is payable cash on arrival at the centre.
If you require a single room, you may have to stay in a B&B
near the harbour (about a 15 minute cycle--we will lend you a bicycle)
but will, of course, still have all your meals in the centre.
We wish to open our courses to as many people as possible and offer
a mumber of attractive discounts for people on tight budgets, see below
for more details.

Discounts on yoga courses
Early bird discount:
We offer a 10% early bird discount
to people booking for a course more
than two full months before its start date.
Bring a friend discount:
If you have been here before and come back with one or more friends who
have never been here before, we offer a 5% discount if you bring one
friend, 10% if you bring two friends, etc.
We offer a 10% returnee discount
on all yoga courses to people who have
on one of our courses within the past year.
On all summer
courses, we also offer a 20 euros /
day discount for
camping. As there's only limited space for the camping
contact us as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
We wish to open our courses to as many people as possible, and therefore offer a few concessionary places on our courses to people on low incomes.
You will be asked to work in the kitchen, house or garden for
a few hours a day, in exchange for a discount on the price of the
course. Your duties will include washing up and cleaning of the kitchen
/ dinning room after each meal, cleaning of the yoga room and the
student accommodation and possibly helping with some of the cooking or
We normally offer a discount of 25
euros per full day (excluding the first and last day of the
course, unless you can arrive early or leave late), but are
willing to discuss it with each person on an
individual basis, depending on how much work you are willing and able
to do, and what your particular financial circumstances are. PLease note
that with this option, you will not have much free time to explore the
island in the afternoons.
